Thursday 6th continued

Another brilliant day. Awoke to glorious sunshine and feel quite guilty when we read on the BBC news site about the atrocious weather back home.

Our morning was free today so spent a bit of time doing absolutely nothing. A nice leisurely start to the day with no bags to pack and a relaxing breakfast. We then wandered around in the sun before going on a summer sampler wine tasting tour at 12:30, which included a gourmet lunch.

We tasted lots of lovely wines and finished off the afternoon with a chocolate tasting and a cheese tasting. The white Chardonnay chocolate was scrummy as was the Pinot noir chocolate. Wasn't hugely impressed with the cheeses but dad liked them.

We got back to our hotel at 5pm which gave us just 40 mins to shower and change and meet up for our 45 min trip across the lake for an evening eating a scrumptious buffet of BBQd meats, salads, veggies and puds.

This is our vessel, which is one of the last original coal fired steamships in the world. Dad spent quite a long time down in the engine room taking lots of photos. I'm not sure what for but I guess it's a man thing.

After the grub we then went to a sheep show! We watched a very clever dog rounding up sheep and then saw a very handsome chap shear a sheep. Just as well he was a big strong boy because that sheep really didn't want to be there. What an exciting life we lead :-)

On our return journey across the lake, our group commandeered the area around the piano and sang our little hearts out for the entire journey. Thankfully we had a songbook provided.

Our group.  We really belted out the songs and were thanked at the end. I'm sure we could've passed a hat around.

Now it's bedtime. Cases packed and outside our door at 7am and on the coach at 8.
