Another good day. Can't believe the weather is being so kind to us. We were up and out at 7:45 this morning in order to get the 8am boat for a 4 hour scenic cruise up the east coast of the Abel Tasman National Park. It started off by sailing across Tasman Bay for an hour and then sailing up the coast past beautiful beaches. We felt cheated because our tour guide, who wasn't with us, had told us that there were some lovely walks we could do. We were suitably clad in walking gear but the guys on board our boat told us that we wouldn't be getting off so no opportunity to walk or explore. It was still a lovely morning but the hour and fifteen minute journey back aboard a bone shaker of a bus wasn't appreciated. I'm sure the bus must have dated back to the 50s!
Here's our route

Off we go. It was pretty windy on top.
A very novel gangway for getting on and off. Just head pointy end first to the beach, drop your anchor and the gangway, load and in load passengers and then use the anchor to pull you back out.
After setting off from the above beach we stopped at Split Apple Rock. I can see why it is called that.
Next encounter was cottage loaf rock.
Followed by a baby fur seal basking in the sun.
When we got back we had some lunch and headed off out to do a walk from the hotel called the centre of NZ walk. This took us to a vantage point high above the city from where we had fantastic views.
A pied cormorant sitting outside our room.
Now it's off to eat again!
