It's an odd day today. We left Christchurch in beautiful sunshine but it quickly turned to grey skies as we headed north for our 2 nights in Nelson. We stopped in Kaikoura for a break for an hour and it was cold and gloomy. Guess who decided to wear shorts today? I have regretted it all day, until, that is, we arrived for a brief stop in Blenheim. The temp has risen to 23c and the sky is blue and more importantly I no longer feel a complete idiot for being inappropriately dressed.
A gloomy Kaikoura but a happy smiling hubby.
Whalebone arch in Kiakoura. Makes you realise just how big a whale is when you see these.
Dad amusing himself attempting a selfie. It just ends up looking as though he's on a special needs outing.
Now driving through the Marlborough region, which you wine drinkers know produces lots of lovely wine, especially Sauvignon blanc. It's interesting how neatly kept the vines are.
Whilst passing through Marlborough we passed Cloudy Bay Funeral Parlour and wondered if you were given a glass or two to see your loved one on their way!!!
This is Cloudy Bay
And then on to Blenheim for lunch and it's lovely and warm. It's amazing how the weather can change so much in such a short distance. Shorts don't look quite so stupid now.
